Applying To Immigrate To Canada
(Express Entry System)

CANADA’S PERMANENT RESIDENCY PROGRAM
Express Entry

Prospective individuals that wish to immigrate to Canada can apply through any of the numerous permanent residency programs that Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) offers. However, applying through these programs does not guarantee that your application will be approved.

Here we can help optimize your application to boost your odds of receiving permanent resident status.

The permanent residency programs Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) currently offers include:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Provincial Nominee Program

Prospective immigrants that wish to settle in Canada have various immigration programs available to them under the Express Entry system. This system was first introduced in 2015, and manages programs such as:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

The Express Entry System helps the Government of Canada assess and select immigrants based on their qualifications and background. To apply through the Express Entry System, prospective immigrants must meet the requirements for at least one of the programs mentioned above.

Federal Skilled Workers Program

To be eligible for the Federal Skilled Workers Program, applicants must possess a minimum of one year of work experience in either full time or part time occupations. These occupations must fall under National Occupation Code types 0, A, or B.

In addition to this, applicants must meet requirements related to:

  • English or French language skills
  • Education
  • Age
  • Job Offer
  • Adaptability

Federal Skilled Trades Program

To be eligible for the Federal Skilled Trades Program, applicants must possess a minimum of two years of work experience in the last five years. This work experience must be gained in occupations that fall under National Occupation Code groups 72, 82, 92, 632, or 633.

In addition to this, applicants must also meet language skill requirements and provide proof of funds.

Canadian Experience Class

To be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class, applicants must possess a minimum of one year of Canadian work experience in the last three years. This work experience must be gained in occupations that fall under National Occupation Code types 0, A, and B.

In addition to the above, applicants must also meet language skill and admissibility requirements.

Prospective immigrants that wish to apply for any of the programs mentioned above using the Express Entry System must follow these steps:

  1. Determine Your Eligibility

Applicants must first determine whether they are eligible for the program they are applying for. Each of three programs mentioned above have different eligibility requirements. At Parmut Law, we can help you discover which of the above programs you are eligible for.

  1. Prepare Your Documents

The next step is to gather the required documents for your chosen program. Many of these documents can take weeks or even months to acquire, so this process should be started as soon as possible.

  1. Submit an Express Entry Profile

Next, applicants must create an Express Entry profile on the Canada Immigration website. If they are eligible, they will then be added to the pool of Express Entry Candidates.

  1. Receive Your Invitation To Apply

Successful applications will receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence. They then have 60 days to submit their permanent resident application.
